In Zoology: Understanding the Animal World, The Great Courses teams up with the Smithsonian, the acknowledged leader in animal research, conservation, and education, to bring you 24 visually rich lectures that take you behind the scenes of not only the animal world but of the scientists trying to understand how it works. Dr. Donald E. Moore III—director of the Oregon Zoo and senior science advisor at the Smithsonian’s National Zoo—has crafted a wonderful introduction to the fundamentals of zoology through the eyes of a trained zoologist, bringing you up close and personal with a breathtaking variety of animal species: crocodiles, birds of prey, lions, dolphins, giant pandas, elephants, and more. Packed with exclusive footage from zoos, research parks, and animals in their natural habitats, as well as interviews with other Smithsonian scientists, these lectures will reveal the hidden world of animals in a way no textbook could ever hope to do.

The North County Chapter was formed to promote public interest in, and to encourage and facilitate, the study of foreign policy and international affairs. The goal of the meetings is to address a wide range of geopolitical issues and to do so in a relaxed and conversational atmosphere. Programs begin at 9:30 with socializing over coffee and cookies. The scheduled presentations begin at 10:00a. Then, following a 10-minute break, programs resume with Q&A, ending at 12:00 pm.

New Great Courses: William Shakespeare: Comedies, Histories, and Tragedies- Part 1

There is no more important author in Western literature than William Shakespeare. And his plays—whether a comedy like A Midsummer Night's Dream; a history like Henry IV; or a tragedy like Hamlet—are treasure troves of insight into our very humanity. Shakespeare: Comedies, Histories, Tragedies introduces you to Shakespeare's plays and explains the achievement that makes Shakespeare the leading playwright in Western civilization. The key to that achievement is his ""abundance,"" says Professor Saccio—not only in the number and length of his plays, but also in the variety of experiences they depict, the multitude of actions and characters they contain, the combination of public and private life they deal with, the richness of feelings they express and can provoke in an audience and in readers, and the fullness of language and suggestion. Due to the length of this series, it will be split into two different parts. Part 1 will consist of eighteen 30 minute lectures. Repeats each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

'Oh my, God! Oh my God, you guys!' Our residents are making a trip to Oak Creek Highschool as they enjoy their performance of Legally Blonde the Musical. Based off the hit 2001 Movie and Broadway Musical, our residents will be tickled in Pink as they enjoy this comical and heartwarming show.
